Who Is SPRA?
The Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association (SPRA) is a non-profit member-based organization whose purpose is to promote, develop and facilitate parks and recreation opportunities throughout the province. We are recognized as the provincial umbrella organization representing parks and recreation in Saskatchewan and manage the Recreation Section of the Saskatchewan Lotteries Trust Fund for Sport, Culture and Recreation.
SPRA allocates funding through the Recreation Section of the Saskatchewan Lotteries Trust Fund for Sport, Culture and Recreation to eligible recreation organizations. There are currently 32 Provincial Recreation Organizations and seven Sport Culture and Recreation Districts on the Minister’s Eligibility List. This funding supports these Members with the delivery of quality recreation experiences throughout the province.
When you join SPRA you become an Active member of the Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Infrastructure representing over 400 communities and partners province wide. SPRA provides a provincial voice allowing its members to promote and facilitate parks, recreation and leisure opportunities throughout Saskatchewan.
SPRA is committed to representing not only its members but also the citizens of the province as a whole.
Through an agreement with the Government of Saskatchewan, proceeds from Saskatchewan Lotteries are dedicated to sport, culture and recreation organizations to benefit communities throughout the province.
SPRA is the recognized leader for the wellbeing of people and communities through recreation.
We envision a Saskatchewan in which all citizens have equitable access to recreation experiences

-Result in well rounded, well-adjusted contributing members of their community
-Provide connection and attachment to their community and environment.
SPRA provides leadership, facilitation, programs and services to enhance the impact of recreation for the quality of life in Saskatchewan.
