Programs & Services

The Facility Management program is a program of the Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association (SPRA). This program is dedicated to serving the needs of community facility management. It is intended to contribute to training operators and the efficient operation of facilities.

Certification

Certificates may be obtained in each of these of the following courses:

Pool Operator Course

This course provides in-class and hands-on experience for those involved in swimming pool operations and is composed of three modules. Participants can test their knowledge and receive their Provincial Pool Operators Certificate.  Please note this course will only be held in April at the Symposium if there are enough participants

Modules:
- Pool Chemistry
- Filtration and Mechanical
- Management / Programming

Cost:
$300 plus GST  - Members
$360 plus GST  - Non-Members

Arena Operator Level 1 Course
This course is composed of four modules. As a certified component of the Western Facility Operator Master Certification Program, participants can test their knowledge and receive their Arena Operators Level 1 Certificate.

Modules:
- Ice Making and Maintenance
- Air Quality Issues
- Energy Management
- Ice Resurfacers

Cost:
$220 plus GST  - Members
$310 plus GST  - Non-Members

Arena Operator Level 2 Course
This intensive course will provide the essential refrigeration theory to give participants an overview of modern industrial refrigeration systems and is composed of four modules. As a certified component of the Western Facility Operator Master Certification Program, participants can test their knowledge and receive their Arena Operators Level 2 Certificate.

Modules:
- Thermodynamics
- Operation and Maintenance of Refrigeration Plants
- Refrigeration Components, Equipment and Controls
- Refrigerants and Brines

Cost:
$485 plus GST - Members
$580 plus GST - Non-members

Western Facility Operator Master Certificate
The Western Facility Operator Master Certificate Program has ceased to be in existence and will no longer be offered as a certification.  SPRA will be designing a provincial certification process offering courses for a designation.  Details of new certification will be

Spring Training and Education Symposium

The 2018 Spring Education and Training Symposium will be held on April 9-12, 2018 at the Humboldt Uniplex - the main recreation facility in Humboldt located on Highway #5 West.

The Symposium offers:
