The Town of Rosthern is inviting applications for the positions of Lifeguards and Instructors at the Valley Aquatic Centre for the 2024 season.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Lifeguards and Instructors must possess the following certifications:

  • Lifesaving National Lifeguard Service or Minimum Bronze Medallion/Cross
    • One of the following:
      •   Current Lifesaving Society Aquatics Emergency Care (AEC) with CPR-C/Standard First Aid/AED;
      •   Canadian Red Cross CPR Level C; or
      •   St. John’s Ambulance Standard First Aid: CPR Level C.
  • Instructors must possess the Lifesaving Society Swim for Life Instructor certificate (SI)
  • Previous work experience in an aquatic work environment would be an asset.
  • Must be at least 15 years of age or older. Applicants under 16 years of age must submit a Young Workers Readiness Course certificate.
  • Proven written and verbal skills.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Criminal records check and vulnerable sector check are required.

The Town of Rosthern is an equal opportunity employer. The starting wage for Lifeguards is $15.89 per hour. The starting wage for Instructors is $16.50 per hour.
