The primary function of the Operator is to ensure safe, inviting and quality ice surfaces. Performs general maintenance, set-up, cleaning, and repair duties. Monitors operations of the facility, including heating, ventilation and air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Operates and maintains equipment required for performance of duties including Zamboni ice resurfacer, ice edger, snow clearing and related equipment. This position is part time/casual year-round employment. This position includes days, evening, and weekend work. Safe work practices must be observed for all tasks.

The successful applicant will have:
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License
  • Valid Criminal Record Check
  • Level I Arena Operator Certification (preferred not necessary)
  • Level II Arena Operator Certification (preferred not necessary)
  • WHIMS Certification (preferred)
  • First Aid/CPR AED Certification (preferred)
  • H2S Alive Certification (preferred)
  • Current experience in the cleaning and upkeep of a recreation facility with ice
  • Attention to detail a necessity
  • Self-starting attitude and the ability to make decisions
  • Proven experience solving problems with an exceptional service approach
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

The successful applicant will demonstrate a positive and professional manner through tactful communication (both verbal and written) with co-workers, user groups and patrons.
