Meeting Lake Regional Park is seeking a qualified Park Manager to join our team. This contract position is a great opportunity for a mature and responsible individual. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who enjoys working outdoors, interacting with the public, and takes pride in maintaining the park. Position would include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the park, including the start up and shut down of the park, ensuring staff keep the grounds maintained, working with cabin owners, seasonal, and non-seasonal renters to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the park. This is a contract position with the opportunity to be renewed on a yearly basis. The tentative start date is April 1 until approximately the end of September. A valid drivers license is required.
The successful candidate for this position should have:
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good working knowledge of computers and using Google Docs and Teams
- Experience with cash handling, using a POS system, answering the park phone and emails
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, be a positive team leader, and work independently
- Attention to detail and good organizational skills
- The ability to adapt and be flexible depending on the situation
- Well approachable with well-developed interpersonal skills, with staff and the public
- Purchasing maintenance supplies
- Supervise and lead seasonal park staff in the day-to-day operations and maintenance
- Inspect park grounds and facilities for safety or maintenance concerns and address them promptly
- Experience operating small and large equipment (mowers, tractors, etc.)
- Assisting with special events and park programs
- Maintain accurate records for park operations and maintenance schedules
- Research and apply for available grants and manage all park permit applications in cooperation with Administrators
- Communicate with the Maintenance Lead
- Communicate bylaws and policies to park users
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends during peak times or events
- Wage or salary will be determined based on experience
- Provide a satisfactory criminal record check with vulnerable sector upon hire
