Meeting Lake Regional Park is seeking a qualified Park Manager to join our team. This contract position is a great opportunity for a mature and responsible individual. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who enjoys working outdoors, interacting with the public, and takes pride in maintaining the park. Position would include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the park, including the start up and shut down of the park, ensuring staff keep the grounds maintained, working with cabin owners, seasonal, and non-seasonal renters to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the park. This is a contract position with the opportunity to be renewed on a yearly basis.  The tentative start date is April 1 until approximately the end of September. A valid drivers license is required.  

The successful candidate for this position should have:   

  • Good oral and written communication skills  
  • Good working knowledge of computers and using Google Docs and Teams 
  • Experience with cash handling, using a POS system, answering the park phone and emails 
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, be a positive team leader, and work independently 
  • Attention to detail and good organizational skills 
  • The ability to adapt and be flexible depending on the situation  
  • Well approachable with well-developed interpersonal skills, with staff and the public  
  • Purchasing maintenance supplies 
  • Supervise and lead seasonal park staff in the day-to-day operations and maintenance  
  • Inspect park grounds and facilities for safety or maintenance concerns and address them promptly  
  • Experience operating small and large equipment (mowers, tractors, etc.) 
  • Assisting with special events and park programs 
  • Maintain accurate records for park operations and maintenance schedules  
  • Research and apply for available grants and manage all park permit applications in cooperation with Administrators 
  • Communicate with the Maintenance Lead  
  • Communicate bylaws and policies to park users  
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends during peak times or events 
  • Wage or salary will be determined based on experience 
  • Provide a satisfactory criminal record check with vulnerable sector upon hire
