REPORTS TO: Pool Manager
JOB SUMMARY: Responsibility of ensuring the safety of all patrons and assisting the manager in the
seamless operation of the pool.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Satisfactory Driver’s Abstract Report
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Check
- Satisfactory completion of all certifications as required by the Swimming Pool Act 1999
- A valid Bronze Cross Certificate issued by The Life Saving Society of Canada.
- A current St. John Ambulance Standard First Aid Certificate, Red Cross Standard First Aid Certificate or Life Saving Society Aquatic Emergency Care Certificate.
- A current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation C-Level Certificate.
- Successful completion of the Youth Worker’s Certificate (if under the age of 16)
COMPETENCIES:
- Inter-personnel communication skills
- Ability to work with other members of the team at a professional level
- Ability to remain calm in all situations
- Demonstrate dedication to the position and community
- Act as a competent person with regards to health and safety
- Work evening and weekend shifts
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Respect and support all staff members to project a positive, professional atmosphere at all times, whether on deck or not
- Ensuring the safety of all patrons
- Follow the direction of the supervising Senior Lifeguard
- Follow all procedures as set out in the Swimming Pool Operations Manual
- Maintain an accurate Log Book
- Assist in the completion of daily maintenance of pool and pool area as required
