Full-Time Permanent Position – Willow Bunch, Saskatchewan
The Town of Willow Bunch, is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual for the position of Community Recreation Practitioner (Director). This full-time, year-round role is ideal for someone passionate about community recreation, and cultural programming. This role involves scheduling, coordinating volunteers, managing inventory, developing and delivering programs/activities for residents of all ages and providing feedback to the board partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain a positive working relationships with local volunteers and community committees
- Support volunteer committees in the planning and delivery of recreation, sport and cultural programs
- Offer programs and activities for all ages, from preschool to seniors.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations and management of community recreation and cultural facilities in cooperation with existing recreational and cultural committees.
- Oversee and provide leadership to full-time, part-time, and seasonal staff, including supervision and scheduling.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate a variety of recreational programs and events for all seasons.
- Collaborate with stakeholder committees to establish rules and procedures for programs and facilities.
- Assist in developing and managing budgets for programs and facilities.
- Submit written monthly reports & attend council meetings and other stakeholder meetings as necessary or when requested to discuss the reports.
- Communicate with the supervisor on a regular basis.
- Attend professional development opportunities pertaining to sports, recreation and culture as well as other related fields.
- Recruit, train, mentor & enable volunteers that will maintain programs and enhance community development.
- Shall ensure that all programs and events are publicized and promoted through media, posters and other forms of communication.
- Plan, coordinate and assist clubs, and organizations in the development, implementation and promotion of their program and activities.
- Ensure that the use of municipal recreation and park facilities and services are properly coordinated and scheduled.
- Research and implement cost saving procedures and policies in consultation with the stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned and approved by the stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Diploma, certificate, or degree in Recreation Administration or a related field is not required but is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Proficiency in scheduling and inventory management
- Experience in a municipal or community recreation setting is an asset.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively with staff, elected officials, volunteers, and the public.
- Proficiency in common computer applications and office software.
- A valid driver's license.

Scope:
Recreation Director will be supervised by Town Council through the Administrator and Council representatives from the following: Recreation Board, Jean Louis Legare Regional Park, and RM of Willow Bunch #42.

What We Offer:
The hourly wage being offered is $20/hr along with a comprehensive benefits package and enrolment in Municipal Employee Pension Plan. Office space, computer and printer provided.
