Applications are invited for the position of Community Coordinator.

The Town of Lumsden is a vibrant community seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of full-time, permanent Community Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to the continued growth of recreation, culture and community programming in beautiful Lumsden. The successful applicant should be a self-motivated individual who will be responsible for the effective management of Town-owned parks, campgrounds, facilities, recreation programs, and community events. The successful applicant will work closely with the Museum, TransCanada Trail, Dew Drop In and the Qu’Appelle Valley Nordic Centre.

The Community Coordinator will provide technical, administrative, and program direction to many local sport, culture and recreation organizations, including researching, preparing, and supporting grant applications and other funding opportunities. Liaising with the schools is imperative.
In addition to these duties, the Community Coordinator leads the planning, coordination and promotion of major community events and services including the Scarecrow Festival, Santa Day, Indigenous Day, Truth and Reconciliation Awareness, Canada Day, Senior Night, Summer Swim Program, etc.

Qualifications: The preferred candidate will possess a Degree or Certificate in Recreation Administration. Previous experience in a municipal recreation setting with facility management is an asset. The candidate must have the ability to deal effectively with staff, elected officials, community volunteers, and the public. Excellent interpersonal, communication and computer skills are strengths the candidate must possess. A satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required as well as a valid driver's license.
