Funding Opportunities
Community Rink Affordability Grant
Skating and curling rinks are integral to the creation of vibrant, active, and connected communities in Saskatchewan. Recognizing the escalating operating costs communities and organizations face, SPRA has partnered with the Government of Saskatchewan to offer the Community Rink Affordability Grant.
In 2025-26, the province will double the program funding to $3.2 million, increasing the grant to $5,000 per indoor ice surface.
Applications for the 2025-2026 season will open in January 2026.
School Playground Equipment Grant
Administered by the Government of Saskatchewan, in partnership with the Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association (SPRA), the School Playground Equipment Grant program is expected to start accepting applications in fall 2025. Up to $50,000 in matched funding will be available for schools to build a new playground or update existing equipment.
The criteria and guidelines will be announced closer to the application process. It is estimated that approximately 75 projects will receive support each year.
More details, including the specific date that applications open along with the program criteria will be announced once finalized in collaboration with the Government of Saskatchewan.
