HIGH FIVE® is Canada's only comprehensive quality standard for organizations providing recreation and sport programs to children aged 6 to 12.
Through HIGH FIVE® training, front line recreation, sport and after school leaders learn how to incorporate the Principles of Healthy Child Development into their everyday programming. The HIGH FIVE® Principles emphasize the social, emotional and cognitive needs of children to help front line leaders engage participants, build relationships and resolve conflict.
Research shows that the positive and negative experiences children have in recreation and sport programs have a lifelong impact. Positive experiences in sport and recreation help children become capable, caring adults who contribute more effectively to the community in the future. HIGH FIVE® training ensures that leaders have the tools and knowledge to nurture a child’s social, emotional and cognitive health.
