Shining a Light on An Exceptional Student

This week, we're shining a spotlight on one of our recent SPRA Scholarship recipients.

We would like to congratulate Courtney Saboe, who was announced as the 2019 Saskatchewan Polytechnic recipient of the SPRA Scholarship. On Saturday, April 13th, SPRA President, Coralie Bueckert, attended the Awards and Recognition Evening for the graduates of the Recreation and Community Development Program at Saskatchewan Polytechnic, and had the opportunity to meet with Courtney.

She is an outstanding student, and Courtney's her passion for volunteerism is exceptional. Her experiences in volunteering for the Saskatoon Blades, the YMCA of Saskatoon, the 25th Street Theatre, WE Day Saskatchewan and Autism Services Saskatoon have help her carve out a strong skill set of hard work, dedication and communication – to name just a few. These skills served her well as she acted as the volunteer supervisor for the 2018 Nutrien Fringe Theatre Festival – where she coordinated 117 volunteers.

Congratulations Courtney!

Good luck as you begin your next adventure. We look forward to your contributions to Saskatchewan’s recreation community!
