Many people are turning to the pool environment to enjoy the unique benefits of the water. Learn the properties of water and how exercise in the water differs from land-based exercise.
This 20-hour practical course provides considerations required when planning and leading fitness classes for older adults. Topics covered include: use of equipment, pool organization, principles of water, effects on body movement, safety in the water environment and use of music.
It is based on NFLA performance standards and guidelines.
Note: A minimum of 4 hours of course time will be spent in the pool.
