The City of Meadow is accepting applications for the full time permanent position of Parks, Recreation and Facilities Foreman.

Reporting to the Recreation Manager (to the City Manager in the interim), the responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the supervision of parks and recreation staff; scheduling and overseeing the maintenance and repair of municipal facilities; assisting with the scheduling of parks and recreation staff, and maintaining a safe work environment.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated effective leadership, management and interpersonal skills; the ability to prioritize and organize work assignments for the department; provide effective supervision; delegate authority and responsibility; and provide exceptional customer service. The following are the qualifications of the position:

  • Minimum Grade 12
  • Minimum 4 years leadership experience, preferably in a similar environment
  • Qualification or training in Millwright, HVAC Mechanic, Plumbing or another related building and facility maintenance trade is an asset
  • Ice Facility Operator certification is an asset

Applicants must be able to obtain Arena Operator level 1 &2 certification within one year. A valid Class 5 Driver's Licence and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check are required for this position.
