March 16, 2020 - In light of the unprecedented situation we are all facing as a result of COVID-19, the Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association (SPRA) will be temporarily pausing workshops and training events directly delivered by SPRA. We are asking our members and partners to consult with us prior to offering any of our workshops or training events in the near future. We will update changes to other events scheduled in the coming weeks, and will communicate directly with those who have registered.
The health and wellbeing of individuals and communities is at the center of what we do. While many of the events facilitated or supported by SPRA are smaller gatherings, we believe it is essential to take measures that reduce the potential spread of the virus.
It is important to us to support our members in taking the necessary steps to prevent the spread of this virus in the public spaces within their care and responsibility. As such, we continue to urge our members to follow the recommendations of the Public Health Agency of Canada and the Government of Saskatchewan, and to work with your local public health officials to review your emergency plans. Please continue to practice routine environmental cleaning, disinfection strategies and social distancing.
As the situation surrounding COVID-19 rapidly changes, we will continue to adjust our approach as needed. To stay informed, refer to SPRA’s website regularly for updates, both from SPRA and from our partners throughout Saskatchewan’s Recreation Community.
If you have questions or inquiries about the availability of our training events and course offerings, please contact our office at 1-800-563-2555.
