Due to the high demand for educated professionals in the recreation sector, Saskatchewan Polytechnic have announced that the Recreation and Community Development Program is returning to every year intake.
In an official statement, Vickie Clarke, Program Head for Saskatchewan Polytechnic, said:
"In June of this year, it was announced that due to increased demand for educated professionals in the recreation field, the Recreation and Community Development Program would be returned to an every year intake. This would not have been possible without the support of SPRA, our Program Advisory Committee and numerous industry colleagues. We have a very diverse group of students, with ages ranging from 17 to 36 and a wide range of backgrounds, international students (India, China, England and Vietnam), Aboriginal, urban and rural.
Within the two years, the students will have seven different instructors teaching 35 courses.
We look forward to an exciting two years."
This is great news, and showcases Saskatchewan Polytechnic's commitment to building capacity for a stronger recreation sector and the long-term sustainability of our field.
