Gathering Strength/Rassembler nos forces: Framework for Recreation in Canada Forum 2018 is a national event focused on building relationships, continuing dialog and working in cooperation towards achieving the values, goals and priorities identified in the Framework for Recreation in Canada: Pathways to Wellbeing.

Event Details

The event will be held on May 8-10, 2018 in Regina, Saskatchewan at the Delta Hotel Regina.

This gathering is the first of its kind since the completion of the Framework in 2015, and will bring together leaders, practitioners, and stakeholders from sectors across Canada to:

  • Showcase effective partnerships and initiatives from across Canada
  • Share knowledge and successful practices
  • Continue the national dialogue on the Framework for Recreation in Canada
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration with other sectors, governments, and municipalities. 

Who Should Attend

Gathering Strength will benefit anyone interested in the continued growth and vitality of recreation across Canada. The Forum has been designed to offer educational sessions and networking opportunities to:

  • Recreation, Community Development, Parks and Facilities staff and management
  • Municipal. Provincial, Territorial and National elected officials and representatives 
  • Academics and Post-Secondary educators in the fields of Parks, Recreation, Community Development, Health and Tourism
  • Emerging leaders, professionals, and students in the parks and recreation fields
  • Public Health officials, policy makers, and health promotion specialists

Call For Presenters

The Call for Presenters for the Forum is now closed. Thank you to all individuals and agencies who submitted session abstracts. We will be communicating with all applicants on the status of their submissions in the upcoming weeks.

Registration for this event will begin in January 2018.

The deadline for Early Bird Registration will be announced in Q4 2017.

Registration Cost:

Early Bird Registration Fee: $300 + GST

Non-Early Bird Registration Fee: $350 + GST
