About Playground Inspector Certification
The Canadian Certified Playground Inspector certification program is offered through the Canadian Playground Safety Institute (CPSI) and supported by the Canadian Parks and Recreation Association (CPRA). Certified instructors lead the Theory and Practical Courses, which are offered over a 4-day period regionally across the country. Those who complete both the CPSI Theory and CPSI Practical courses, and who receive a passing grade on both exams, achieve the industry-recognized status as being Canadian Certified Playground Inspectors. Each of the two courses includes 1 ½ days of training and a 2-hour exam. The Inspector status is valid for a 3-year period and can be renewed by completing a re-certification exam either online or in the classroom.
