HELP Promotion 2015.
The Holistic Empowerment Leadership Program (HELP) is envisioned as a collaborative effort between Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association and SaskCulture. The primary purpose of this program is to build leadership capacity and assist Aboriginal Recreation service providers in developing the understanding, knowledge and skills required to provide holistic recreation, culture and sport programs. This program also promotes the mobilization of partnerships between sports, culture and recreation organizations within the province.
HELP is designed to encourage communities to implement gatherings intended to promote, educate and encourage youth focused engagement. The valuable training opportunity is intended to provide participants with valuable educational and informative tools to assist in developmental and sustainable programs at a community level, resulting in an enhanced participation in recreation, culture and sport.
The HELP program community host is the Touchwood Agency Tribal Council and will take place at the:
Echo Valley Provincial Park, Fort Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan,
June 27-30, 2015
Participants will participate in the following workshops: Red Cross: Resolving Conflict, Working Living Playing Together, First Aid/ CPR (two full sessions), First Nation Recreation Board development, Women in Sports, Provincial Body Coaching Modules, Traditional /cultural activities and other related programs.
If you are a Recreation Programmer, Educator, Health staff, Day Care worker, Culture Leader or volunteer or any program leader, this program is for you! We are looking for participants from across the province, you do not have to attend the duration of the time- participants selected to attend will fill out a form that indicates which sessions you wish to attend. Workshops, Entertainment, meals and campsite space will be available with your registration. Workshops will be indoors and outdoors (Weather pending) simply complete the application attached and email fax or mail it.
