Recreation Round-Up will bring together approximately 200 Parks & Recreation professionals and volunteers from municipalities across Saskatchewan.
This three-day conference will expose delegates to best practices, case studies, and learning opportunities related to the facilitation of recreation in our province.
This year’s conference will expand upon the new definition of recreation identified in the National Framework for Recreation in Canada.
As a result, Recreation Round-Up will be a great opportunity for companies and organizations currently servicing the parks and recreation sector to get their products and services in front of municipalities across Saskatchewan. Also, with the conference’s broader focus, it will also be a good opportunity for companies and organizations in the fields of arts, culture, heritage & tourism to tie their products into a new and waiting market.
Recreation Round-Up will also be departing from the typical format for SPRA conferences. Rather than corralling delegates into a conference centre, the use of facilities across the community of Maple Creek and within the Cypress Hills will move delegates throughout the area, providing them with a more immersive experience and allowing them to come away with a richer taste of what southwestern Saskatchewan has to offer.
Among other things, this will include a hike in the only lodgepole forest on the prairies in Canada, an evening “Cowtown Culinary Tour” complete with local wine & beer tastings, sessions and keynotes hosted in a variety of unique designated Municipal Heritage Properties; and even Goat Yoga!
We invite you to be part of this fresh new approach to a longstanding provincial conference by becoming a sponsor and experiencing the Cypress Hills Destination Area for yourself.
